Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy explains how GG Atlas handles information when you browse resources, sign in with Discord, submit or claim a resource, pin a listing, send feedback, upload media, or suggest a game.

Information we collect

Browsing does not require an account. AWS, CloudFront, and WAF process network and request metadata, such as IP address, user agent, requested path, referrer, response status, and timestamps, to protect and operate the service. GG Atlas does not create a browsing profile or link this data to a public account. Operational logs are retained for up to 30 days.

Discord is the only account login. Sign-in provides your Discord user ID, username or display name, and avatar hash so we can create and display your GG Atlas profile. We do not receive or retain your Discord password, email address, private messages, contacts, or guild membership. Discord access tokens are not retained after the login callback completes.

We do not ask for a separate real name, email address, phone number, postal address, payment information, or other contact profile. We retain the information you choose to submit through suggestions, resource submissions, claim attempts, pins, feedback, and maintainer actions. This can include resource URLs, descriptions, issue text, DNS verification results, and uploaded media. Do not include private account or contact details in free-text fields.

Feedback may be sent without signing in and is then not linked to a GG Atlas account. Anonymous feedback uses Google reCAPTCHA v2; Google processes the checkbox interaction under its own privacy policy, while GG Atlas sends only the resulting one-time token to Google for verification. Abuse limits use a short-lived one-way hash of the CloudFront viewer address rather than storing that address with feedback.

GG Atlas counts only aggregate product actions that help us improve the catalogue, such as activity selections, tool choices, search outcomes, outbound visits, pins, feedback outcomes, and claim progress. We do not retain a raw referrer URL, search query, visitor identity, or user event record in these counters. WAF logs redact all query arguments, including search and sign-in callback values.

How we use information

We use information to operate Discord-linked accounts and sessions, review listings, verify maintainers, send Discord notifications, monitor resource reachability, respond to feedback, protect the service, and understand aggregate product usage.

Public content

Approved resource information, maintainer claim status, health signals, and maintainer-uploaded logos may be public. Do not submit confidential information. Feedback is not public by default, but moderators may review it and a claimed resource's maintainer may view its contents in the resource management workspace or connected Discord feedback channel to help resolve the issue. We do not reveal the reporter's GG Atlas or Discord identity there.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

GG Atlas uses a secure, HttpOnly session cookie when you sign in and short-lived security cookies for abuse prevention. We do not currently use Google Analytics measures use of public GG Atlas pages and selected product interactions, such as discovery choices, completed submissions, outbound clicks, and feedback categories. We do not send submitted URLs, search text, feedback content, or Discord account details to Google. We use the CloudFront viewer-country header only to decide whether to ask for a choice; we do not store that country. Visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other configured European locations see an analytics choice before the Google tag loads. Elsewhere, Google Analytics loads for public pages unless you open Analytics choices in the footer and opt out. Google does not receive Discord account details from GG Atlas. We do not use advertising cookies or behavioural advertising.

Service providers and third parties

Amazon Web Services processes application, database, object storage, network, and log data to host GG Atlas. Discord processes authentication and bot interactions. Google processes reCAPTCHA verification and, where enabled, Google Analytics under its own policies. Listed resources and other outbound sites are independent third parties with their own privacy practices. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and security

We retain Discord-linked account, submission, moderation, claim, and security records only as reasonably needed to operate the registry, preserve audit history, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Abuse-limit hashes expire within two days. Backups and logs may retain deleted data for a limited operational period.

We use access controls, encrypted storage, restricted infrastructure, origin checks, rate limits, and secure session handling. No internet service can guarantee complete security.

Your choices and rights

You can stop using GG Atlas or sign out at any time. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection regarding personal information. We may retain limited records where required for security, legal, or audit purposes.

Children and changes

Use GG Atlas only if you are old enough to use online gaming community services in your location. We may update this policy as the product changes; the effective date identifies the latest revision.
